Self Care - Introduction

I ran away last weekend and it interrupted my posting to The Helpful Blogger. Sorry about that, but it was well worth it. In these days with all the stress and violence going on in our country and with social media and TV spewing negativity, it’s a good thing to call a time-out now and then.

My time-out was spectacular. I attended a 3-day painting workshop with Lynn Whipple called Big Bold Blooms Wild Painting Workshop. It was spectacular and just what I needed. When I returned home, I realized that being with creative people in a happy, energized environment had done me a world of good. And, as the Helpful Blogger, I began to realize that being helpful includes more topics than food and physical activity.

So, I’m going to intersperse some self-care posts here to pass along what I have realized. I do not want to slide back into the angry, stressful conversation that seems to be buzzing around these days. Let’s work together to avoid that.

So, while I put together the first post, please do some thinking about what self care means to you.
